Meet Your Instructor

 Fay Guilian,B.A, M.A, M.F.A,

As a practicing artist and teacher, I have worked with students from ages 5 through adult. My art reflects the passion that I have for the feminine and I feel strongly connected to reinventing the western view of beauty in the feminine form. I have taught and traveled overseas for many years. Having lived in or visited over 30 countries including: Spain, the Philippines, Kuwait, Bahrain, Thailand, India, Kenya and South Africa.

Being a woman of multicultural heritage I am commited to continuing the study of art from the indigenous women of the Americas, Africa and Asia.

Additionally I am a mother of two daughters, both teachers, a grandson and a granddaughter, and I am currently writing and illustrating two children's books and a novel.

It is my pleasure to be your instructor for this class -- Women In Art History.  In an attempt to get to know you a bit better, your first posting on the forum will be just an introduction. Since we have no brick and mortar classroom, we will have to become aquainted by posting on the class forum.  After you read the syllabus, please enter the class forum and introduce yourself to classmates. I look forward to taking this journey with you and it is my hope that by the end of the course you will realize the huge impact women have had on the world of art.
